Ms. Carmen, Shear Director

at Sunday, April 25, 2010
I haven't been quite as obsessive about Maddie's hair as I was with Bella's, but that's because Maddie has little hair to fuss with. As with many toddler's, her hair is thin and stringy, growing to different lengths in different areas. The result is what I like to call the fuzzy skirt hair-do:

Although she's cute as can be, the sparse overgrowth of hair covering the sides of her head is in stark contrast with hairless fuzz on top. Hence, fuzzy skirt. So I decided it was prime time to take her to get her first professional hair cut at Dots 'n Dashes.  Those of you may recall Bella's first haircut with Ms. Victoria, Shear Director, at the same kiddie salon.

First, the Shear Director sat Maddie in her elevated salon chair. She secured her in with a belt and wrapped a drape around her . Then she busted out the buzzer. The entire ordeal took less than 10 minutes.

I was pretty certain Maddie would be compliant but near the end, she broke out in a worried whimper:

Mommy, what just happened?

But the end result was spectacular.  It made all the difference in the world! Yeah!  Maddie even got a certificate, just like Big Sister Bella!
