B is for Bully

at Monday, October 12, 2009
Yesterday we went to our friend Agnes' house to decorate and bake Halloween cookies.  With Agnes and her creative aura at their side, Bella and Josie baked and decorated some really nice cookies. And they were scrumptious, too!

First, we rolled out the dough (made of 2 sticks of butter)

...then we cut out the shapes.

Ready to bake! (time for some mischief while we wait for them to bake)

Now, let's decorate!

Voilà!  They're done!

While the cookies baked, the kids went outdoors to play, which unfortunately for Agnes' dog, meant that he became the prime target for the children's curious, prodding fingers. Little did us adults know, as we watched the game indoors,  mischievous mayhem was occuring outdoors. That is, until after dinner, when someone noticed a pile of foamy vomit lying on the corner of the rug.

"Wicket threw up!" the girls shrieked.  Poor little dog fumbled to the corner to hide with his ears flopped down, thinking he had done something wrong.

After some intense questioning, the girls 'fessed up and told us that they tried to feed Wicket leaves and flower petals - petals that were probably poisonous. Since Bella was the older of the two girls, it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that she was likely the Bully ring-leader in their little charade gone wrong.  Bella saw the vomit and was immediately concerned. Concerned enough to walk over to Josie's mom to say,  "Josie gave Wicket the leaves."  Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Sorry, Wicket.

We've got two little artists in hand, amazing what they came up with at just 3 and 4 yrs old! And Wicket is doing fine. He's a tough little old man, and won't be taken down by two mischevious little girls!
